Kingscourt Brick is part of The Breedon Group, following its acquisition of The Lagan Group in April 2018. The Kingscourt Brick range comes with a distinctive legacy, forged through our homegrown experience of more than 100 years' brickmaking.

An Unrivalled Heritage

The Kingscourt Brick range comes to you with our own legacy, forged through our homegrown experience of more than 100 years’ brickmaking.

Made from locally sourced Keuper Marl Clay, and distributed throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom, our bricks are strong, durable and attractive. A perfect balance of aesthetics and function. We’ve created our range to let you be as flexible as possible in your design, without skimping on quality.

And like every brick we make, each one’s the product of our care, dedication and dexterity. Craft. A combination of hands, brain and heart, using skill and passion to make something you’re proud of; something that’s built to last.

If your craft is building, that longevity, that legacy is something you strive for every time you start a new project. Your craft creates structures that stand for generations and look good for centuries.

Which is why our craft is brickmaking.

Sustainability

We strive to recycle as much waste as we possibly can and to that end we process all fired products that we do not require and most other forms of waste created in the manufacturing of clay brick products into a primary aggregate form to be reused.

As a natural product, clay facing bricks are one of the most sustainable and durable building products. Clay bricks are expected to have a Service Life of at least 150 years provided that the building of which they form part is designed and constructed in accordance with all prevailing Building Regulations and Codes of Practice. Clay bricks offer the recognised advantages of using materials that offer high thermal mass. Thermal mass is the ability to store heat – red bricks absorb heat throughout the day slowly releasing it at night, ensuring internal temperatures are consistent throughout the day and night.

Introducing The Brick Magazine

Kingscourt Brick, in conjunction with Kingscourt Country Manor Brick is delighted to announce the launch of the Brick Magazine Newsletter. This bi-monthly online newsletter will celebrate the history of brickmaking in Ireland and, in particular, the brick made in Kingscourt, County Cavan, the home of the sole surviving brickmaking factory in Ireland. The content throughout this ezine has been curated by Susan Roundtree, conservation architect and independent researcher on brickmaking and brick use in Ireland.

The articles to be published will look at brick in Irish buildings of all types, described from an architect’s perspective. Brick has been a primary building material here since its introduction in the late sixteenth century, growing in popularity through the intervening centuries and now enjoying new popularity in some of our finest contemporary buildings.

Quality you can count on

Our modern brick factory naturally complies with the industry’s latest environmental and quality standards, as do the bricks it produces; but there’s so much more to Kingscourt quality than just having the right certificates.

For the future, we have an on-going programme of R&D with our customers to develop the bricks they want for their schemes together with developing new façade and cladding systems. We’ve also invested in new clay reserves and a new state-of-the-art packaging system – all designed to continue Kingscourt’s growth for many years to come.
